A few years ago, my husband and I made the life-changing decision to leave Canada and begin a new chapter in Panama. We came for one very special reason: to find the right autism therapies for our daughter and give her the best opportunities to thrive.

Like many families starting over in a new country, we arrived with plenty of questions, no local connections, and a shared hope of building a brighter future for our daughter.

Our journey wasn't always easy. Finding the right support for our child required patience, perseverance, and awaiting who we could meet to help and truly trust. That experience inspired the values that define Sami Vacation Stays today.

I believe hospitality isn't simply about providing a place to stay, it's about building meaningful relationships, and helping people feel at home, even when they're far from home.

I've met travelers who arrived full of excitement only to discover that the accommodation they rented was nothing like they had been promised. One story, in particular, deeply touched me. Friends rented an apartment for three months, paid it fully in advance, and soon discovered that the refrigerator didn't work, there was no gas, the stove was unusable, and the internet was constantly disconnected. When they asked the landlord for help, they received neither assistance nor a refund. They left after just one week, heartbroken, losing both their holiday and a significant amount of money. Watching them go through that experience reinforced something I already believed: good service and trust matter.
